SIIG Extends Successful Line Of PCI I/O Boards
(Fremont, California; May 12, 1998) SIIG launched their new series of PCI-bus I/O boards with the CyberSerial and CyberParallel products. These new boards shipped in February and are already very successful. They have now fulfilled the promise of that first announcement with the delivery of a complete line of PCI-bus I/O boards. The CYBER PCI I/Ofamily now include new Cyber I/O PCI , CyberParallel Dual, CyberSerialDual, CyberSerial Dual Plus, Cyber 2S1P, and the Cyber2S1P Plus boards. This new line provides single or dual parallel and serial ports and includes parallel / serial combination cards.Product Capabilities
The Cyber I/O PCI combines a 16550 UART serial port and an EPP/ECP parallel port on a single board. Many newer systems are constrained in both on-board capabilities and expansion slots available for additions. By putting both ports on one board, SIIG helps protect the limited number of slots available for other uses. The single high-speed 16550 UART serial port supports baud rates up to 460 Kbps. This card is an ideal solution for systems requiring 56K external modems, ISDN terminal adapters or other high-speedserial port devices.
The CyberParallel Dual PCI board provides two DB25 (IEEE 1284 typeA) parallel ports giving a user the flexibility of adding multiple parallel port devices, such as removable cartridge drives, CD-R/RWs, printers, scanners, and SuperDiskTM LS-120 drives. This is a fast solution for systems that require simultaneous access to multiple parallel port devices.
The CyberSerial Dual PCI board provides two high-speed 16550 UART ports (9-pin) which support baud rates up to 460Kbps. With built-in 16-byte FIFO buffers that dramatically increase data transmit/receive rate, this board gives a user the ability to work with high-speed serial devices such as 56K modems and ISDN terminal adapters. With complete support for DOS-and Windows-based software, this board is the answer for systems thatneed to connect multiple serial port devices. Also, available with two high-speed 16650 UART serial ports that support baud rates up to 920Kbps is the CyberSerial Dual Plus. These boards are user-friendly solutions for systems that require simultaneous access to multiple serial port devices.
The Cyber 2S1P PCI combines two 9-pin serial ports with built-in high-speed16550 UART (16-byte transmit/receive FIFO buffers, baud rate support upto920Kbps) and one DB25, IEEE 1284-1994 parallel port. Also available is the Cyber 2S1P Pluswith two 9-pin, high speed 16650 UART and 32-bit transmit/receive FIFO buffers and one DB25, IEEE 1284- Type A parallel port. Both these products dramatically enhance system performance with improved I/O access speed for 56K modems, ISDN terminal adapters and anyother high-speed serial port devices. SIIG's new family of PCI-bus I/O boards are setting the standard for price performance. The new PCI-bus boards provide for significant performance improvement in comparison to their ISA-bus equivalents. SIIG now gives the users additional options with a whole line of configurations for all the PC connectivity they need.
Installability
Like the other members of their family, these new boards have the ease of installation that comes with adherence to PCI v2.1 Plug and Play standards. These cards ship with easy to understand documentation that makes installation a pleasure, not a chore. At SIIG, customer satisfaction is one of their highest priorities. They make it their goal to ensure that their products install without the need of technical support, saving the customer's time and affording them better usability.
