USB 2.0 offers transfer rates 40 times faster than the older USB 1.x, running at up to 480 Mbps compared to the USB 1.x's 12 Mbps. All USB 2.0 Hi-Speed products are fully backward compatible with existing USB 1.x devices and offers the same user friendly features as USB 1.x, such as being hot-pluggable (connect/disconnect devices without restarting system), and the ability to connect up to 127 devices.
USB 2.0's high-speed data transfer rates lends itself perfectly to the growing demand of high-speed/increased bandwidth products available today, such as digital video and still cameras, drives, scanners, audio devices, etc.
Continuing Philosophy
As with SIIG's entire line of products, they will strive to offer one of the most complete offerings of USB 2.0 products available. Future plans for expansion include a line of high-speed USB 2.0 memory card readers/writers, a full line of USB 2.0 cables, and other varieties of USB 2.0 adapters/hubs. As Director of Sales and Marketing Dolly Chao says, "SIIG strives to offer our customers the widest range of products on the market, allowing them the ease of relying on one vendor for all of their I/O connectivity needs."
