SIIG, Inc. Announces New & Improved I/O!
(Fremont, California; June 28, 2004) SIIG, the market leader in I/O connectivity products (including ATA Controllers, FireWire, USB, serial/parallel ports, etc.) is proud to announce a new line of improved Serial and Parallel PCI I/O products.
SIIG’s new versions of I/O products build upon what is known in the industry as one of the most reliable solutions for adding additional serial and parallel ports. Many improvements have been made that make these new boards even better.
Improvements include:
- • New 4-layer PCB: Separate layers for data & grounding. Greatly reduces signal noise & loss. Delivers more reliable high-speed data transfers.
- • Supports 3.3V with 5V tolerance: Conforms to PCI v2.2 universal card standard. PCI-X & 64-bit compatible.
- • Can be configured as standard RS232, RS232 with 5V or 12V power output for devices that require power (such as handheld scanners, table scanners, POS displays, etc.). Configurable via jumpers with silk-screened settings on PCB.
- • Enhanced bracket designed to prevent bending. Connected to PCB with washered screws for a more secure connection.
- • Increased UART buffer size - 16C550/32-byte, 16C650/64-byte, 16C950/128-byte
- • Supports PME # (Power Management Event). Allows device to request a change in system power state (wake up system). Requirement of WHQL certification.
- • SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Type - Low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) aluminum electrolytic capacitor offers much improved noise suppression & achieves higher levels of performance/reliability.
- • SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Type crystal offers cleaner design than traditional DIP-type crystal. Provides greatly improved grounding, which reduces EMI emission & improves performance/reliability.
