Q: Can I use a USB-C to USB-C cable for non-PD devices?
It’s not recommended to use a USB-C to USB-C cable directly with non-PD devices.
Power Delivery (PD) relies on communication between the charger and the device to negotiate the correct voltage and current levels.
If your device doesn’t support PD protocol, it won’t initiate this communication, and charging may either fail to start, charge very slowly, or risk potential compatibility issues.
For safety and stable charging performance, only use USB-C to USB-C cables with PD-compatible devices.
